Remember: Presidents appoint SCOTUS justices!
A little tidbit that wasn’t adequately addressed in the debates: the newly elected President of the United States will likely appoint 2 or even 3 justices to the Supreme Court - and if you’re foggy about SCOTUS, remember that they set precedent for the laws of the land. So when you VOTE TODAY (because choosing not to is WILDLY IRRESPONSIBLE) realize that your decision will affect the...

Berkeley — A new report released today (Wednesday, Oct. 24) in observation of national Food Day 2012 says that a proposal pending in U.S. Congress to raise the minimum wage would increase retail food prices for American consumers by at most 10 cents a day, while helping nearly 8 million food workers and 21 million workers in other industries. The report from the recently established Food Labor...

Virginia Ultrasound Bill: Republican Lawmaker... →
Democrats have criticized Gilbert’s floor statement, and Englin said that the statement is in line with previous Republican comments on the issue. He noted he had a conversation with one GOP lawmaker regarding his amendment where the lawmaker had told him that women had already made the decision to be “vaginally penetrated when they got pregnant.”

House Passes ‘Let Women Die’ Bill After Extremely... →
As predicted, the US House of Representatives has passed HR 358, otherwise known as the “Protect Life Act,” otherwise known as the bill that would allow hospitals to let women to die rather than perform a life-saving abortion. Every single Republican in the House supported the measure, and 11 Democrats crossed the aisle to join their life-protecting brethren. USA! USA! USA!

Two general hypotheses guided the research: The incidence of rape varies cross-culturally A high incidence of rape is embedded in a distinguishably...

Huffington Post: The Virginia Board of Health passed the most severe abortion clinic regulations in the nation on Thursday, which health advocates say could effectively close down all 22 abortion providers in the state. The regulations, commissioned by the state legislature and written by the Virginia Department of Health, are largely unrelated to patient health and safety. They would treat...

How to Talk to Little Girls →
Teaching girls that their appearance is the first thing you notice tells them that looks are more important than anything. It sets them up for dieting at age 5 and foundation at age 11 and boob jobs at 17 and Botox at 23. As our cultural imperative for girls to be hot 24/7 has become the new normal, American women have become increasingly unhappy. What’s missing? A life of meaning, a...
